Timothy Allen Burgress

Timothy Allen Burgess, 62, of Fieldale, Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at his residence. He was born on January 24, 1961, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Richard Allen Burgess and Kay Williams Barbour. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tracy Lane Waddell; a stepfather, Conley Eugene Waddell, maternal grandparents, Katherine M. Seay, Henry D. Williams, and Toney L. Seay; paternal grandparents, F.C. Burgess and Elizabeth Roberts Burgess; grandparents, J.P. and Marie Barbour; Paul and Nannie Waddell; and several aunts and uncles.

Timothy was a member of Fontaine Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time in nature, there was a time he could be found hiking on Dick and Willie Trail and The Rock Castle Gorge He was an avid swimmer. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching westerns, mystery movies, sports, and Jeopardy, where he could answer almost every question that was asked.

Timothy is survived by his parents, Kay Williams Barbour (Don) and Richard Allen Burgess (Maryann); stepmother, Janet Waddell; two brothers, Dennis Earl Waddell (Connie) and Duane Burgess (Paula); one sister, Angie Kurczewski; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Merle Brown officiating.
