Timothy Lee Lucas
Timothy Lee Lucas, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, at the age of 59 in Newport, Virginia. Born on July 20, 1965, in Montgomery County, Virginia, to Howard Andrew Lucas and Yvonne Hypes Lucas, Timothy grew into a man of great character, known for his warm smile and generous spirit.
Timothy's life was one marked by devotion to his family, friends, and community. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, carried on by his beloved daughter, Miranda Lucas, his treasured grandchildren, Zayden Franklin and Honor Saunders; and a special lifelong friend and caregiver, Danyel Basham. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of his brothers, David, Roger (Pam), Dean, and Kevin (Ruth) Lucas, and his sisters, Susan Lane (Randy) and Diane Schneider (Bill). Timothy's playful energy will be missed by Tonto, his loyal furbaby, who was a constant companion and source of joy. His life was enriched by the companionship of special friend, Denese Koger, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Timothy's professional life was characterized by his dedication to his work in HVAC Maintenance at Virginia Tech. His colleagues knew him as a reliable, hardworking individual who took pride in his craft and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his passion for the outdoors.
An avid outdoorsman, Timothy found solace and joy in hunting and fishing, pursuits that brought him closer to nature and provided endless stories to share with friends and family. He was also known for his love of playing cards or shooting pool, pastimes that often-gathered loved ones around the table for laughter and camaraderie. Timothy's adventurous spirit led him to explore the back roads of Virginia, where he found beauty in the rolling landscapes and the quiet strength of the countryside.
Riding his Harley was more than a hobby for Timothy; it was a way to feel free and connected to the world around him. The open road was a canvas for his thoughts, and he cherished the sense of community he found with fellow riders. His love for travel and discovery was infectious, and he often inspired others to seek out their own adventures.
Above all, Timothy valued the time he spent with friends and family. He was the heartbeat of gatherings, bringing warmth and kindness to every occasion. His presence was a comfort, and his ability to listen and empathize made him a confidant to many. Timothy's life was a testament to the power of forging strong bonds with those around him.
Preceded in death by his parents, Howard Andrew Lucas and Yvonne Hypes Lucas, Timothy now joins them in eternal peace, leaving behind a world that was undeniably brighter for his time in it.
