Tina Marie Gipson Vaughn

Tina Marie Gipson Vaughn, 60, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Born on November 3, 1963, in Martinsville, she was the daughter of Richmond Gipson Jr. and Esther Lena Dandridge Gipson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Matthew Vaughn, and her two brothers, Troy and Sheldon Dandridge.

A devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Fieldale, VA, Tina sang with the Senior Choir. She worked at Bassett Walker Company in Bassett, VA, and spent 19 years at Great Eastern Resort in Virginia Beach, VA. Tina also attended Patrick and Henry Community College in Martinsville.

Tina was passionate about mentoring youth, inspiring them to believe in themselves and strive for their best. She was a warm and loving person who cherished her time with family and friends, especially enjoying moments spent with her nieces and nephews. With a compassionate heart, she was always ready to offer support to those in need.

She is survived by her two brothers, Cyrice Donnell Dandridge of Roanoke, VA, and Irvin Gipson (Cynthia) of Virginia Beach, VA; and her sister, Dora Lee Doumbia of Bassett, VA. Tina is also lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11:30 AM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Benjamin Redd officiating. A burial will be held at Carver Memorial Gardens immediately after the service.
