Tommie Lee Dodson

Tommie Lee Dodson Sr., 76, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Friday, February 21, 2025. He was born December 19, 1948, in Norfolk, Virginia to the late James Edward Dodson Sr. and Lucy Betty Hairston Moon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lorene Stockton; brothers, Frank Harris and Floyd Harris.

Tommie was a member of Shiloh Temple Apostolic Church where he was an Usher and a Deacon and enjoyed singing in the male choir. Tommie loved his family dearly. He enjoyed doing yard work in his free time.

He is survived by his loving wife of twenty seven years, Faith Carter Dodson; daughters, Cheryl Dodson, Shelley Hamlett, Rhonda Moore; sons, Dirk Turner (Luciana), Tommie Lee Dodson Jr. (Rachel), Tommie Lee Hamlett Jr., Quinton Hamlett (Africa), Desmond Prillaman, and Samuel Hairston; sisters, Vivian Cook, Jackie Dodson, Katie Harris, Naomi Aytch, Elizabeth Hairston, and Martha Harris; brothers, James Edward Dodson Jr. (Robin) and Marshall Hairston (Phyllis); and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Shiloh Temple Apostle Church with Bishop James Millner officiating. Interment will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service. A floating visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service.
