Tommy Adams
Tommy Adams Sr., 77, passed away peacefully at his residence on January 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Tommy was born on September 10, 1947 in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late Ruth Dixon Adams and the late Ellis M. Adams. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Brady Chappell Adams.
Tommy was of the Christian Faith, and a long time member of Greater Triumph Missionary Baptist Church in Chatham, VA, where he served as treasurer for many years. Tommy worked for many years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company previous to his retirement. He had a special love for bike riding, basketball, and all types of outdoor sports. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a very caring person to all he met, and he never met a stranger.
In addition to his wife, Tommy is survived by two sons; Tommie Adams Jr. (Linda) of Blairs, VA and Gregory Adams of Danville, VA; two grandchildren: Centrellis Adams and Janequa Ferguson; four great grandchildren; Marissa, Persephone, Perseus, and Prometheus; three brothers; Joe Adams (London), Wayne Adams (Janet), and Keith Adams (Sharon); two sisters; Delores Lampkin and Vanessa Adams; mother in law; Bradie Chappell; two sister in laws; Dorothy Barbour (Rufus) and Linda Dixon (James); two brother in laws; Chris Chappell (Paulette) and Harrie Chappell; and a host of many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tommy was predeceased by two brothers; Willie and Timothy Adams and a sister; Karen Harris.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 11:00am, at Greater Triumph Missionary Baptist Church, 581 Fairview Road, Chatham, VA 24531 with Pastor Antonio Logan presiding. The interment will immediately follow at the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 5-7:00pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA.
