Travis Ray Rife
TRAVIS RAY RIFE, 73, of Bastian, VA, fought his final battle and won the victory Tuesday, December 12, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born April 10, 1950, in Iaeger, WV, the son of the late Anthony & Laura Rife.
Travis was a member of the Rocky Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church. He enjoyed flea markets and was an excellent salesman. He was a newspaper carrier for many years.
Travis was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Lawson & Laura June Coleman Rife and his only son, Robert Dwayne Rife.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kelli Rife, Bluefield, WV and Angela Rife, Galax, VA; his stepsons and their families, Matt Kee and Scott Kee; his grandchildren, Catheryne Rife, Natalie Rife, Dylan Rife and Travis G. Rife; his great-grandson, Cassious (“Cass”) Brown; his brothers, Merrill Rife and Alvis Rife, both of Bastian, VA; his sisters & brothers-in-law, Hilda & Larry Sutphin and Gilda & Garnie Kennedy, all of Clear Fork Creek Rd.; the mothers of his children, Sherry Addair and Fonda Rife; and several special nieces, nephews and special friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 6:00 P.M. at Rocky Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastors Larry & Hilda Sutphin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 P.M. until service time, 6:00 P.M. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Clear Fork Baptist Church Cemetery at 12:00 P.M.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the nursing staff at Bland County Nursing and Rehab Center as well as to Wythe Hospice of Southwest Virginia for their kindness and care for Travis over the last few months.
