Treaver "Jack" "Th" Hale Smith

April 28, 1927 - July 3, 2024

Treaver Hale (Jack) Smith Sr. of Roanoke peacefully entered his heavenly home early on the morning of July 3, 2024.  A veteran of World War II, he bravely served his country stationed in Europe.  Upon his return, he married his beloved late wife, Catherine, with whom he cherished 75 years of marriage.  He was a dedicated truck driver for many years in the Roanoke Valley.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife Catherine, his parents Ira and Oretha Smith, brothers Nelson and Dennis, sisters Lora, Hallie, Ernestine, and Betty Jo and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is survived by his three sons:  Treaver H. Smith, Jr. (Marsha), Larry Smith (Karen), and Timothy Smith (Lynn).  His legacy continues through his five grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  He leaves behind his brother Doug, and sisters Jan, Billie Sue and Freda, who will cherish his memory always.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 10 a.m. in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
