Twila Elaine Akerman Anderson

Twila Elaine Akerman Anderson of Danville, VA, passed away at SOVAH Health Hospital on July 5, 2025, at the age of 77. Twila was born in Rochester, New Hampshire on March 21, 1948, to the late Wallace Irving Akerman Sr. (Father) and the late Ruth Elaine Canney Akerman (Mother).

She graduated from Dover High School and graduated from Bates College and trained in Mathematics. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Wallace I. Akerman Jr. and Walter Harland Akerman, her husband, Alvin Edward Anderson of Grafton, VT, and her son, Benjamin Wallace Tenney of Antrim, NH. She is survived by her daughter Amy Tenney Corcoran (Shawn) of Brunswick, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed knitting and reading in her free time and spending time with her pets and watching NASCAR. There will be no formal funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to cancer treatment/ research of their choice.
