Vada I. McGlothlin

Vada McGlothlin, age 68, of Sinton, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025. She was born on March 29, 1957, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Arnold Hiatt and Frances Bowman Hiatt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 50 years, George W. McGlothlin, Sr.; three sisters, Pat, Imagene, and Edith; and four brothers, Forty, Woody, Ronnie, and Hayford.

Vada was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother. She found great joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. Known for her warm heart and gentle spirit, Vada showed kindness and care to everyone she met.

She had a special love for all things Christmas and could often be found watching Christmas movies—sometimes even in July—on the Hallmark Channel. Vada also enjoyed decorating, traveling whenever possible, shopping, and relaxing with a nice cup of coffee.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lisa Simmons (Robert), Kimberly Watson (Alan), and George McGlothlin, Jr. (Christi); her grandchildren, Vanessa Valdez, Anthony Valdez, Jason Valdez, Breannah Villarreal, Dakota Simmons, Draxton McGlothlin; and one great grandchildren, Jacob Garcia Valdez; her brother, Saford Hiatt; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 1:00pm at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be follow at Henry Memorial Park.
