In Loving Memory of Velma Adams Plaster

Velma Adams Plaster, 101, of Patrick County, VA, passed away on March 25, 2026, at The Landmark Center of Stuart. Born on December 17, 1924, in Patrick County to the late George and Laura Adams.

Velma lived a life defined by grace, faith, and boundless love. To know her was to love her. Velma greeted everyone she met with a warm smile, a gentle touch, or a welcoming hug—often all three. She was the embodiment of a true Christian, a Godly woman who spoke only with positivity and kindness, firmly refusing to engage in idle gossip.

A pillar of her community, Velma was a founding member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Patrick Springs, where she served faithfully until its closing. Over the years, she sang in the choir and served as the past treasurer. A hard worker who approached life without complaint, she found her joy in gardening, working outdoors, and, most importantly, spending time with her beloved grandbabies. She was deeply loved by her family, who will cherish the memory of her devotion and spirit.

Velma is survived by her children: sons Garland Plaster (Ann) and Don Plaster (Linda), and her daughter, Shelby Roop (Cliff). She also leaves behind her seven grandchildren: Treva Robertson, Duane Reynolds, Terry Plaster, Travis Plaster, Stephanie Auger, Niki Plaster, and Brandon Capps; as well as 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, two step-daughters, five step-great-grandchildren, and three sisters: Pauline Miles, Ivis Martin, and Eleanor Kendrick, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, George Plaster; her daughter, Linda Reynolds; her grandson, Sheldon Capps; and her brother, Curtis Adams.

The funeral will be held 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Norris Chapel in Stuart, VA. with Pastor Freddie Bonds officiating.. Burilal will follow at Patrick Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior from 11:00am to 12 noon .

Flowers are welcome but memorials to Patrick County Alzhiemer's at P.O. Box 1301 Stuart, Va 24171. is preferred.
