Verna Lou Rakes Ramsey

Verna Lou Rakes Ramsey, 98, of Henry, Virginia, passed away on October 4, 2024. She was born on August 2, 1926, in Franklin County, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Ramsey; her son, Raymond Marshall Ramsey; and her parents, Sarah Rakes, Effie Rakes, and Shade Rakes.

She is survived by her three children: Peggy Mize, Regena Young (Sammy), and Sherman Ramsey (Becki); three grandchildren: Debbie Bocock, Calvin Young (Alana), and Crystal Young; and one sister, Lula Mae Jones.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastors Brandon Dupont, Ron Deal, and Roy Sowder officiating.
