Veronica Lavonne Grimes

Veronica Lavonne Grimes, age 73, of Blacksburg, Va., passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023. She was born in Bluefield, West Virginia. On October 25, 1949. She was preceded in death by her father, George Washington Favors, her mother, Eunice Trent Lilly, and her sister, Diane Winkfield. She is survived by her husband, Allen M. Grimes; son, Percy Trent, Jr., and wife, Nedy; sister, Linda Pannell; grandchildren, Caleb, Khaila, and Kiara; aunt, Florence Thomas; nephew, Eric Trent; niece, Angela E. Young; and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 24, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hiawatha Spraggins officiating. Interment will follow in the Wake Forest Community Cemetery, McCoy. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
