Vickie Lee Myers Hyler
Vickie Lee Myers Hyler, 68, of Providence, NC went home to be with Jesus on Friday, November 17, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Vickie was born June 20, 1955, in Danville, VA to Bobbie Jeanette Crews Myers, of Danville and the late Eugene E. Myers.
Vickie was a loving wife, mother, and MeeMaw. She was a member of Chestnut Level Baptist Church in Blairs, VA and was previously a member at Lively Stones Baptist Church, having been a member for fifty years. To know Vickie was to know a godly woman who loved the Lord and serving others. She served as a pianist, youth leader, Sunday School teacher, women’s group leader, and she loved to play and sing Gospel music. She loved her family deeply and never passed up an opportunity to share recent news that she was going to be a great-grandmother, or MeeMaw as she was known by her grandchildren. She worked faithfully for Boor Howard & Co. for 27 years, leaving a lasting impact from her high level of organization. Prior to that she worked for many years at Audiology Hearing Aid Associates. In her free time, she loved to travel with her husband, seeing 48 of the 50 states.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Darrell Leon Hyler; sons, Joshua Darrell Hyler and wife Rachel Hazelwood Hyler, and Zachary David Hyler and wife Kristi Cifers Hyler; grandchildren, Samuel Robert Hyler and wife Gracie Waller Hyler, Daniel Keith Hyler and wife Rachel Rohlfsen Hyler, Gracie Beth Hyler, Faith Anne Hyler, Joy Olivia Hyler, Melody Lynn Hyler, Jordan Darrell Hyler, and Sarah Carolyn Hyler; brother, Steven Eugene Myers and wife Lisa; in-laws, Kathy Stephens and husband Phillip, Barry Hyler and wife Katherine, and Michael Hyler and wife Cathy; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Vickie was predeceased by brother, William Keith Myers; and in-laws, Robert Giles Hyler, Annie Laura Overby Hyler, and Maynard Hyler.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, VA 24541. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Lively Stones Baptist Church, 2347 Chandler Mill Road, Pelham, NC 27311 with Pastor Zachary D. Hyler and Pastor Michael J. Kent, Sr. officiating. Interment will be at the church cemetery.
