Vickie Lucas

Vickie Lucas lived a life marked by kindness, laughter, and deep love for family and friends. Vickie, age 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

In her spare time, she loved spending time outdoors and attending Grateful Dead concerts, but of all, loving on her beloved grandkids brought her the most joy.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Patricia Young, as well as her father-in-law, Thomas Lucas.

Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her loving husband of 50 years, Gary Lucas; mother-in-law, Kathryn Lucas; son, Chalmers “Cham” Lucas (Ashley); daughter, Brooke Kelly (Dustin), brothers, Randy Young (Teresa), Jeff Young (Virginia); and sisters-in-law, Debbie Dulgher (Dan), and Sheena Curry.

In addition, Vickie is also survived by her four grandchildren, who brought joy to her life, Devin and Dakota Kelly, and Jenna and Camden Lucas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

The family will welcome friends for a period of visitation on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, in Salem.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, starting at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Jesse Bass will officiate.

Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park, also in Salem.
