Victor Blaine Phillips

April 11, 1938 - March 28, 2025

 Victor Blaine Phillips Sr., 86, passed away on March 28, 2025, and is now with his heavenly father.

Mr. Phillips was born April 11th, 1938, in Belington West Virginia to the late George Warren and Venola Phillips.

Over the years, Mr. Phillips had been active with various civic clubs such as the Fairmont Jaycees, past president of the Danville Optimus club, to include Optimus of the Year in 1973. He also committed his time to the Sertoma, Ruritan, Elks, and Danville Red Men civic clubs. In addition, he served as a 32nd-degree Mason and Shriner with the ACCA Temple in Richmond, Va.

Mr. Phillips graduated from Belington High School in 1956 and was awarded a four-year scholarship to Fairmont State College.

In 1962 Mr. Phillips began what would be a fifty-three-year career in the oil business with ESSO in Fairmont, WV. as a warehouseman, then as a motor tank transport driver delivering gasoline throughout the state of West Virginia. As he progressed and promoted his way through the ranks within Exxon, he was transferred to several different territories such as, Arizona, where he served as district manager, Texas, Louisiana and Virginia until his early retirement in 1994 where he subsequently joined the ranks of Union 76 which was later purchased by Conoco Philips.

Finally, Mr. Phillips retired in 2014 from the oil business and took up new hobbies. Hobbies such as auctioneering, real estate, carpentry, collecting classic cars, working in his garden, cutting grass and interacting with the public.

Mr. Phillips is predeceased by his father, George Warren Phillips, his mother, Venola Phillips and two brothers, Everett Phillips and George Warren Phillips Jr.

Mr. Phillips is survived by his current wife, Lisa Renee Phillips, and four children. One child of his current marriage and three from a previous marriage. Matthew Jordan Phillips (Krystal), Victor Blaine Phillips Jr., Paula Jo Mitchell and Vickie Lynn Lancianese (Scott).

In addition, he is survived by nine grandchildren, Kody Douglas Knowles (Amie), Dylan Hunter Mitchell (Nicole), Nicholas Connor Mitchell, Lindsey Brooke Mitchell, Adelina Marie Lancianese, Anthony Scott Lancianese, Victor Blaine Phillips III, Nolan Matthew Phillips and Blaine Monroe Phillips.

Also, he was a great-grandfather to Colton Deane Knowles, Shafer Lancianese, and Lincoln Lancianese.

Memorial Services for Mr. Phillips will be held at the Norris Funeral Home on Franklin Turnpike this Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2:00 pm with visitation before the service at 1:00pm. Interment will be held at Highland Burial Park following the service.
