Vincent John Giannola
Vincent John Giannola, age 49 of Roanoke and formerly of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away January 3, 2024 following a long illness.
Vincent was born October 15, 1974, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Frank Faro Giannola and Linda Susan (Forsythe) (Giannola) LaBiosa. He was named after his grandfathers, Vincent Giannola, and John H. Forsythe.
Vincent spent his early years in St. Louis, then moved with his family to California. Vincent especially enjoyed music and playing guitar, and shared this love of music with his sisters, cousins, nephews, and nieces. He returned to St. Louis where he lived for some years. He gave his heart to the Lord in the late 1990s, was baptized and joined the St. Louis Bible Students Ecclesia. He participated in meetings in person and online until he was unable; due to having an inherited degenerative neurological disease. Vincent suffered from Huntington’s disease (HD) which slowly robbed him of his ability to control his body and to live independently.
Vincent moved to Virginia to be close to his mother and younger sister who helped with his care when his symptoms worsened. At the time of his passing, which was sudden and unexpected, he was in a nursing home due to needing continual assistance.
Vincent is predeceased by his father, Frank Giannola. He is survived by his mother, Linda LaBiosa, his sisters Eileen Giuliacci (Dan), Rachel Giannola, and Rebekah Draper (William). He is also survived by his grandmother, Dolores Forsythe, and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
