Virgie Ann Shough

Virgie Ann Shough, 85, of Bassett, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital. She was born December 13, 1938, in Rocky Mount, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Robert and Rosa Nichols, husband, Robert Shough, daughter, Debbie Walker, four brothers, four sisters, and special friend, Wallace Farmer.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always the brightest star in the room.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Hubbard (Alvin); four sons, Doug Shough (Melissa), Dale Shough (Becky), Donnie Shough (Donna), Dean Shough (Shannon); nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Linda Zook; special friends, Constance Pilson and Mecca Craig; and many other extended families.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The burial will follow immediately after the service at New Hope Church of the Brethren cemetery, in Stuart, Virginia. The family will receive friends two hours before the service.
