Virgina Dove Joyce

Virginia Dove Joyce, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Walter C. Joyce and Ida Hopkins; her beloved husband, Carl Joyce; and several brothers and sisters.

Virginia will be lovingly remembered by her devoted family, including her two sons, Jerry W. Hopkins and George L. Hopkins. She also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren, Jeffery S. Hopkins (Valarie), Tonya Edwards, and Leigh Ann Christian (Peyton). Her legacy continues through her seven great-grandchildren: Stephanie Carr (Josh), Katherine Hopkins, Brittany Hopkins, Brandon Horton (Jackie), Brooke Critzburg (Dustin), Peyton Edwards, and Colton Edwards, as well as six great-great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.

Virginia will be remembered for her love of family, her caring spirit, and the many memories she created with those who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.
