Virginia Amos Hodges

Virginia Amos Hodges, 86, of Bassett, Virginia passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at her residence. She was born on September 23, 1937, in Rocky Mount, Virginia to the late Huey Amos and Cora Simmons Amos. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death, by her husband of 56 years, Clyde C. Hodges; two daughters, Judy Hodges, and Linda Sue “Lynn” Hodges; one brother, Curtis Amos; and three sisters, Rebecca Weeks, Betty Jean Hodges, and Jeanette Harrison.

Virginia was a devoted member of the Baptist faith. She retired from Family Pharmacy in Bassett. Her passion for gardening, particularly tending to her vibrant flowers outdoors, brought her immense joy. Alongside her cherished moments with family and friends, she found fulfillment in these simple pleasures.

Virginia is survived by her two sons, Henry Hodges and Clyde ‘Mike” Hodges; one grandchild, Eric Hodges; two great grandchildren, Cheyenne Hodges and Cassie Turner; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Bassett Funeral Service from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A funeral will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 1:00pm, at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor J.D. Harmon, officiating. A burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
