Virginia Asbury

Virginia Rosa Asbury, “Jenny,” 78, of Elkton passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Born in Narrows, VA on May 5, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Maxine Chambers McCoy.

Jenny retired from W.L. Gore & Associates as a production inspector and following her retirement, she had worked for Northside Pharmacy.  Known for her warm heart and gentle spirit., Jenny was a devoted member of the Elkton Church of God/River of Life Church, where her faith and friendships were an important part of her life. In her quiet moments, Jenny enjoyed relaxing with a good Sudoku puzzle, a pastime that brought her joy and calm.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and cherished every moment she spent with them.

Survivors include her son, Timothy Asbury (Dara); grandchildren, Lauren Caleb (Jamie), Erika Dalton (Dusty), and Branden Russell (Alicia); great-grandchildren, Rosa, Jace, Vera, and Savannah; and brothers, Noble McCoy and Jasper McCoy (Cindy).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles McCoy and Ralph McCoy; and sister in law, Doris McCoy.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Graveside service will be held Saturday December 13, 2025, at 11am.at the Boyd Cemetery, 3001 Old Wolf Creek Rd, Narrows, VA 24124.
