Walter Monroe King, 78, of Fieldale, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Sovah Health - Martinsville He was born in Norfolk on June 7, 1944, the son of late Homer Monroe King and the late Ester Hancock King. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tom Emerson.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Carlene Joan Sower King; stepson, Jimmy Adams and wife Barbara; step-grandsons, Calvin Martin and Chad Adams; sisters-in-law, Madeline Emerson and Jean Hall; nieces, Wendy Hankins and Donna Vernon; nephew, Daniel Booth.
Services will be private.
