Wayne Jobe

Douglas Wayne Jobe, of Salem, Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 7, 2023. He passed peacefully at home with his wife of 58 years by his side.

He was predeceased by his father, Jerry Jobe; mother, Marie Jobe; son, Jr. Bralley; brothers, David and Ronnie Jobe; and other numerous family members.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by sisters, Peggy Cox (Roger), Brenda Johnson, and Sharon West; sons, Victor Bralley and Kenneth Jobe; daughters, Risa Highberger (Jim), Cindy Cundiff (Shannon), Tammy Perdue (Mike); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Wayne spent many hours working at Jobe’s Florist and greenhouses. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching his westerns. He was also quite the prankster.

A big thank you to Lewis-Gale Therapy and Legacy Hospice for their excellent care as well as to all of the family and friends that have touched his life over the years.

All are invited to celebrate Wayne’s life on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, Va., with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. and a funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Chaplain Timothy Martin will officiate.
