Wayne Robert Denny

Mr. Wayne Robert Denny, age 80, of Mount Airy passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. He was born in Surry County, July 22, 1943, the son of the late Curtis and Helen Scott Denny. Mr. Denny retired from farming and developing real estate. He was a veteran of the United States Army and an active member of Grace Moravian Church. Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Carol Beamer Penn Denny; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Wendy Penn, Brooks and Stacey Penn; grandchildren, Elizabeth Harper Penn, Richard Kenneth Penn IV, Sophie Penn, and Aldyn Penn. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM, Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Grace Moravian Church with Rev. Andrew Heil officiating. Interment will follow in God’s Acre. The family will visit with friends after the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Moravian Church, 1401 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030 or Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd, Dobson, 27017. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy.
