Wesley Raymond Stanley, Sr.

Wesley Raymond Stanley Sr., 86, of Gloucester, VA, died in Three Rivers Health and Rehab Center on Thursday, September 16, 2021. He was the husband of the late Shirley Mae Gallier Stanley.

Born in Buckingham County, VA, on August 7, 1935, he was the son of the late John Wesley Stanley and Mattie Walker Goin Stanley. He retired from Montague-Betts Co. in Lynchburg.

He is survived by his two sons, Wesley R. Stanley Jr. and wife, Debra of Gloucester, and Randy Stanley and wife, Betsy of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Matthew Stanley, “Buddy” John Wesley Stanley, Randi Stanley, Benjamin Stanley and wife, Candon; and two great-grandchildren, Jace Stanley and Lilly Stanley.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ellen Belcher, Alice Stanley, and Rachel Richardson and a brother, Tommy Stanley.

The family also wishes to extend a very special thanks to Ms. Shirley for providing years of unconditional love and comfort.

A private family graveside will be held at Liberty Cemetery in Appomattox, VA.
