Wilfred Carson Scott

Wilfred Carson Scott, 96, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount, Virginia. He was born on April 30, 1929, in Endicott, Virginia, to the late Garcie Kermit Scott and Bessie Mae Brogan Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Dewese Scott; son, Olin Scott; and four brothers, Dwight Scott, Danny Scott, David Scott, and Garnett Scott.

Wilfred served in the United States Navy and was a proud World War II Veteran. He was a devoted member of Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren. He found joy in reading his Bible daily and working through word search puzzles. His life reflected faith, quiet strength, and a deep love for his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Eric Scott; four daughters, Ellen Harris (Randy), Anna Collins (John), Jennifer Scott (Howard), and Beverly Pace (Clay); seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby Scott and Larry Scott; two sisters, Frances Allen and Janet DeHart; along with many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren, with Pastor John Collins and Pastor Noel Naff, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
