William Alfred Mitchell

William Alfred Mitchell, 60, of Roanoke passed away in his home on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Mitchell.

Bill was known as a beloved and feared soft ball and tennis coach at the Cave Spring middle and high schools. He also coached with the South County Softball League, and the Virginia Renegades 12u, 14u, and 16u. He was an accomplished golfer and bowler.

Bill’s successful sales career began in the 1990’s with Xerox, and continued for many years with Blue Ridge Copier in Salem. He completed his sales career with Cobb Technologies.

Surviving is his wife, Deborah “Scottie” Mitchell; daughters, Sarah Ann and Emily Jean; mother of his children, Lisa Smith; mother, Jessie Burroughs; granddaughter, Cordelia; brother, Bobby Mitchell and sister-in-law, Karen Mitchell; step daughter, Katie and her children, Scarlett, Kennedy, and Asher, step daughter, Megan (Cody); step son, Sam.

A celebration of Bills life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Cedar Bluff Church of the Brethren 5516 Wades Gap Road Boones Mill, VA by Pastor Todd Reed.
