William Arthur Johnson

William “Bill” Arthur Johnson, Jr., 61, of Madison Heights, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on October 26, 1963, in Virginia, he was the son of the late William Arthur Johnson, Sr., and Elva Rae Johnson.

Bill worked for Southern Air for over thirty years as a Pipefitter Foreman and even worked while he was battling cancer up until his illness rendered him unable. He loved life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, most recently taking a bucket list family trip to Key West, FL. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, Sons of the Confederacy and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his beloved wife, LaWanda Freeman Johnson; two children, Jackie C. Wall and Amanda D. Wall; granddaughter Cheyenne Elizabeth Wall; and his special furry friend, Harley, his German Shepherd.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel.

A graveside service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery officiated by Rev. Carlton Duck.
