William "Bill" Brogan
William "Bill" Brogan, 88, passed away on March 1, 2024 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem surrounded by his daughter Cindy Brown, granddaughter Miranda Brown, and niece Mary Wilson with her husband Marc Wilson.
Bill was a kind and generous soul who loved his family and friends. His witty sense of humor always brightened the room, and he never backed down on what he believed was right. He was always one to lend a hand to those in need, and he continuously served his community through Meals on Wheels and frequently donating to blood drives. Bill was known for his love of plants and green thumb with his impressive rose bushes and collection of house plants. He also loved the beach and would frequently take trips to the Florida and North Carolina coasts.
Bill was predeceased by his wife Margaret Ann Brogan, and his siblings (and their spouses) Margaret B. Gruner (George Guner Jr.), George Robert Brogan (Marion Brogan), Paul E. Brogan (Betty Brogan), Joe A. Brogan (Joyce Brogan), Ruth B. Corekin (Robert Corekin).
Bill is survived by his daughter Cindy Brown and her husband Matt Brown, granddaughter Miranda Brown, his brother Dan Brogan and his wife Eleanor Brogan, as well as many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
At Bill's request no services are being held. Interment will take place Friday March 8th at 9:30am. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held in April with more information to come.
Bill has always reminded his family to smile when he is gone because he has lived a good life. He would want his family and friends to smile and raise a glass for him.
