William “Boxcar Willie” D. Durham, 65, of Providence, North Carolina, transitioned from his earthly home Sunday, January 12, 2025. He was born September 15, 1959, in Danville, Virginia, to the late William Lovelace Durham and Barbara Ann Ingram Cassell.William was employed by Dan River Mills for 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed singing and building, and loved being outdoors playing golf and softball.He is survived by his wife Evelyn Champion Durham; daughters Brandi Mills (Jerry) Amanda Hughes (Rock); sons, Cameron Durham, Will Durham, Matt Durham; sister, Lisa McDaniel; brother, Gary Durham (Penny); seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.All services will be private.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
