William Humphreys

Mr. William Milton Humphreys, age 88, of Covington, died Friday, June 23, 2023, at his residence. He was the husband of Allie Bradley Humphreys.
Mr. Humphreys was born April 26, 1935 in Hillsboro, WV, the son of the late Howard Young Humphreys and Patricia Rock Humphreys. A resident of this community since 1942, he was employed as senior vice president for the former First Virginia Bank, retiring in 1994 after a number of years of service. Mr. Humphreys was a member of Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where he served his church as a former deacon. Milton was a former mayor and former member of Covington City Council and was a lifetime member of the Covington Moose Lodge #610 L.O.O.M. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling.
Other than his wife, Allie, Mr. Humphreys is survived by three sons, William Milton "Tony" Humphreys, Jr. of Newport News, Terry Alan Humphreys and wife, Lorrie of Covington and Robert Edward McFadden of Covington; four grandchildren, Benton McCormick and wife, Allison of Covington, Danielle Walker and husband, Josh of Enterprise, AL, Samantha McCormick of Covington and Amber Seith and husband, Mark of Roanoke; eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Lillian Jane "T-Hart" Humphreys of Covington.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Humphreys was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Humphreys.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Monday, June 26, 2023 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. James MacDougall officiating, assisted by Rev. Bill Gilliland.
Those wishing to attend the service should assemble on Monday afternoon by 2:45 P.M.at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 2306 S. Church Avenue, Covington, VA 24426.
