William Scott

William "Bill" Henry Scott, 68, of Roanoke passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Beatrice Scott; stepfather, Richard Guerrant, a brother, Dr. Lawrence Scott, and a son, Rashad Scott

Bill proudly served his country in the U S Navy for 19 years.  He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Lodge # 4522 in Vinton, Virginia.  He served as post Quarter Master responsible for the financial accountability of the charitable donations and the dispersal of the donations to the charities involved.  He was also a member of the St. John Grand Lodge of Virginia.  He was employed as the Director of Maintenance for 10 years at Snyder Nursing Home.

Bill was always ready to lend a hand when someone needed help.  He lived life to the fullest.  He loved spending time in Tennessee and had recently made his first trip to Disney World. He was also a huge New York Giants football fan. 

Surviving is his loving wife, Angela Scott; step/daughter, Leslie Cline; sister, Vanessa Scott; brother, David Guerrant; and children, Jamie, Tia, Marchetta-Billie, Dr. Renette Shameka; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins; his many friends, the members of his lodge family and his precious little  fur babies, Bella and Lil  Girl.

The family would like to offer a very special thank you to his work family at Snyder Nursing Home for their many acts of kindness and compassion.

A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Dwight O. Steele.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.  540 366 0707
