William "Smiley Bryant of Appomattox, Virginia
January 25, 1957 - August 11, 2023

William Howard “Smiley” Bryant, 66, of Appomattox, died Friday, August 11, 2023, at his residence.  He was the husband of Glenda Faye Taylor Bryant.

Born in Gladstone, January 25, 1957, he was a son of the late Caroline McFadden and William Horace Bryant.  Smiley served his community by investing himself into years of coaching youth sports.  He spent countless hours teaching and guiding young people on their journeys to adulthood.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carol Stoehr and husband, Richard of Middleburg, FL and Stephanie Scott and husband, Jimmy of Goldsboro, NC; two brothers, Bruce Eldridge and wife, Julie and Tony McFadden and wife, Karen; two sisters, Bonnie Eldridge and Dee Dee Clatterbuck; 12 grandchildren, Nathan, Gino, Anton, Amir, Alexis, Shana, Jacob, Brandon, Matthew, Andrew, Emily and Rachel; six great-grandchildren, Liam, Brett, Aiden, Brantley, Waylon and Shelby; two special aunts, Aunt Sharon “Kitty” Childress and Aunt Caroline “Sweet Baby” Lyons; numerous sisters-in-law, Regina Eldridge, Juanita Litchford and husband, Duke, Pam Ferguson, Connie Baldwin and Linda Fitze and Donald Fitze.

He was preceded in death by a son, Chris Bryant; grandson, Calob Wilson and brother, Allen McFadden.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Robinson Funeral Home with Centra Hospice Chaplin Lee Hendricks officiating.

Smiley was not a flower guy, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Funeral Home.
