The family would like to acknowledge and thank George and Penny Tyree and their family for “adopting” both William and Cecile into their family. Their genuine love and concern will always be appreciated and remembered. William had many long-standing friends that he greatly missed as many of them passed before him. He loved spending time, especially working , with his brothers, Lawrence and Raymond. He found it very distressing that he couldn’t work the last few years as he had always done. He preferred to be the giver of help rather than the receiver of help. He could always be depended upon to help a friend, neighbor, or stranger in any way he could. There is no telling how many yards he kept neatly cut throughout his lifetime. If you get to heaven and see someone on a John Deere mower, happily cutting grass for everyone, that is probably William Rucker.A memorial service celebrating his life will be conducted on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Smyrna Church, 926 Matohe Rd, Monroe, VA 24574 officiated by Pastor Clyde Mawyer, Jr.
