Willliam Green

William "Will" Leonard Green, 61, passed on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Carillion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

William, son of Ethel L. Whittaker and the late Willie Whittaker, was born on March 30, 1961 in Montgomery, Alabama.  William was a talented artist and he loved to share his artwork with others. He had a charming personality and he was a kind soul. He loved a good piece of chicken and good food in general. William also had a love for music and was known as DJ Star Child.

He was the middle child with eight siblings. He was preceded in death by his two oldest siblings, Mary Green and Jeffery Green. Those left to cherish his memories include his mother Ethel Whittaker of Roanoke, VA and six siblings, brothers Phillip (Darlene) Green of Beckley, WV, Cedric (Linda) Green, and sisters Delphia Green, Eunice Thomas, Ralphola (Mark) Armstrong all of Roanoke, VA and Althea Green of Richmond, VA. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hall Community Services, Inc. especially Cindy Gravely, Julie Switzer, Tara Hutcheson, Deryck Brown and Bo Hall for all you and your organization did to help and advocate for William. We pray you and your organization will be blessed for your compassion, caring, and kindness.
