Willynda "Lynda" Puckett Holder

Mrs. Willynda “Lynda” Puckett Holder, 83 of Claudville, VA, passed away early Thursday morning, April 17, 2025, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born on December 9, 1941, in Carroll County the only child to the late Paul Truman Puckett and Mary Sue Mills Puckett. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and dear friend. She is survived by her children, Donna Childress, Melanie Slate and husband Philip, Jeffrey Childress, Gerri Mazur and husband Eugene, and Trey Childress; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several other family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holder was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edward Holder; and her daughter, Lisa Childress. Funeral services will be held Thursday April 24, 2025, at 11:00am in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The burial will take place in the Skyline Memory Gardens following the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening April 23, 2025, from 6:00 until 8:00pm. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
