Wilson Plecker

Wilson Glenn “Buzz” Plecker, age 88, of Millboro, Virginia passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Brian Center Health and Rehab Center, Low Moor.

He was born October 16, 1934 in Bath County, Virginia to the late Carl Gilmore Plecker and Della Cauley Plecker. He was an operator for Plecker Construction, a member of Woodland Union Church and the oldest member of the Millboro Fire Department. He loved blue grass music and loved playing the banjo. He also enjoyed being on the tractor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Warren Plecker; two sisters, Hilda Hobson and Ruth Cauley; a brother, Paul Plecker; and a granddaughter, Michael Elaine Plecker.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Millboro; a son, Stevie Plecker and wife, Bettie of Staunton; a daughter, Debbie Stinnett and husband, Lennie of Roanoke; a step-son, Billy Thomas and wife, Emily of Fredericksburg; a brother, Jim Plecker of Millboro; a sister, Gilma Hinton of Dayton, Va; six grandchildren, Daniel Plecker, Erica Doyle, Jennifer Hicklin, Jessica Turner, Carla McLoughlin, and Cole Plecker; four step grandchildren, Taylor Thomas, Layna Thomas, Riley Thomas, Reagan Thomas; eight great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Woodland Union Church, 347 McClung Dr. Millboro, Va. 24460.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 1:00PM at Woodland Union Church, Millboro with Pastor David George officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until time of service at the church.
