Wyatt Watkins

Wyatt Watkins, 87, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Wyatt was born in Danville, VA on December 3, 1937 to the late Izetta Watkins and the late Wyatt Benson. He was predeceased by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Carletta Tucker Watkins.

Wyatt was of the Christian Faith, and an active member of Bellevue Missionary Baptist Church. He was an active member of the Masons and Shriners as well as the American Legion. Wyatt proudly served his country in the United States Airforce. He worked for many years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, previous to his retirement. He enjoyed his daily Breyer’s butter pecan ice cream and Oreo cookies.

Wyatt is survived by three daughters; Carla, Christy, and Karen Wakins, all of Danville, VA; a sister; Alberta Dennis of Newport News, VA; two brothers; Sherman Watkins and wife Frances of Danville, VA and Vello Adams; two grandchildren; Aaron and Kamyrn Watkins; a devoted cousin; Deacon Michael Bennett; and his special grand dog; Sable Watkins.

In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was also predeceased by two sisters, Azzarie Slade and Juanita Fippen.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 1:00pm at Bellevue Missionary Baptist Church, 854 Luna Lake Road, Danville, VA 24541 with Reverend Braxton Braswell presiding. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 5-6:30pm, at Norris West End Chapel, Danville, VA.
