Yvonne Frazier
Helen Yvonne Mahfouz was born on Feb 13, 1956 in Alexandria, LA to Pauline and Kelly Mahfouz Sr. She grew up in both Lafayette and Alexandria, graduated from Bolton high school, attended college and eventually landed in Houston, TX in 1978. That year she started a long career with the Toshiba Corporation as a project coordinator. Her son, Andy, was born 1981 and she spent the next several years going to work all day long, taking care of her son and attending night school to finish her degree, which she did in 1994.
In 2001 she had a new opportunity with her career in Roanoke, VA and took it. That year she met Jeff Frazier and his two daughters Becca and Bethany. They hit it off so well, by the next year, they were married. Together, Yvonne and Jeff enjoyed traveling all over the country riding the motorcycle, spending time with family and friends, and rooting on each other’s favorite sports team. After 34 years with Toshiba, she finally retired, and they built their dream home out in the country. There they met even more great friends and spent time with their beautiful grandchildren and with each other. In her spare time Yvonne was an active member of the Church of the Transfiguration, the Circle of Mary Church Club, and a member of the Botetourt Town & Country Women’s Club helping the local community with charity work. She was well known as vibrant, kind person who would brighten up a room and could make friends with anyone. Her friends describe her as a generous and loving person who touched so many lives and brought some closer with God.
She is preceded in death by her parents Pauline and Kelly Mahfouz Sr. and her brother Kelly Michael Mahfouz, Jr. She is survived by her husband Jeffry Frazier, her son Andrew Wertz(Jenny), her step-daughters Rebecca Green(Nathan) and Bethany Mitchell(Christopher) and seven grandchildren, Azariah, Fairlight, Gabriel, Adrian, Gavin, John, and Brady.
