Zana "Maureen" Scearce Johnson

Zana “Maureen” Scearce Johnson, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 26, 2025. Maureen was born on January 21, 1944 to the late Gertrude Mabry Scearce and the late James Reed Scearce. She was predeceased by her loving husband of many years, Mr. Irvin Thomas Johnson Jr who passed away in 2006.

Maureen was of the Christian Faith, and a longtime faithful member of Timberlake Baptist Church. She worked for many years at Kroger Grocery and as a Clerk at Ennis Business Forms Inc., previous to her retirement.

Maureen is survived by a daughter; Stacey Gammon and husband Greg of Ringgold, VA; two sons; Kirk Johnson and wife Michelle of Chatham, VA and Brian Johnson and wife Paige of Danville, VA; a brother; Ricky Lee Scearce and wife Cindy; and a sister; Cheryl L. Podobinski; 6 grandchildren; Haley Johnson, Evan Johnson, Zachary Gammon, Landon Gammon, Chad Hill, and Shantelle Bishop; 3 great grandchildren; and a very special friend; J.T. Moorefield.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 6-7:30pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, Stacey Gammon.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 2:00pm at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Danville, VA, with Pastor Walter Yancey officiating.
