Ray

The Smith family’s beloved Boxer baby crossed over the rainbow bridge peacefully, surrounded by those he loved the most, on Friday, June 5, 2020.

Ray was born on August 17, 2009. He lived a long, happy life with his human sisters, Heidi, Jaylen, and Camren, human brother, Owen, and his feline sister, Kaya. He was always excited to play and run and loved to show off his tricks, as long as treats were involved. While he was always happy to play, he also really enjoyed belly rubs, sunbathing on the deck, and snuggles on the couch.

Throughout Ray’s almost 12 years, he taught us how to love unconditionally and always enjoy life to the fullest. He was a loyal companion to his mom and dad and great protector to all his human and fur siblings. Even through his brief illness, he proved to always be strong and brave with a wagging little tail, even on the worst days. He would truly light up a room with his endless energy, clumsy antics, and light hearted spirit.

We chose to have Ray cremated so he would forever remain with our family. We celebrated his life with pictures and mementos placed with his ashes and a statue outside of our home in his memory. While you are now gone from our lives, you’re never gone from our hearts.

“It will take time to heal – for the silence to go away. We still listen for you and miss you everyday. You were such a great dog; constant, loyal, and true. Our hearts will always wear the paw prints left by you.”
