Christie J. Akins

Christie Jane Akins, 75, of Blue Ridge Va., passed away peacefully at her home on July 23, 2025. She was born December 6, 1949 to the late Royal Thompson and Vivian Clark. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Roy Akins; sisters, Francis (Cookie) Thompson, Judy Palmer, Sharon Spicatti; brother, Joey Clark.

Christie was an active and caring woman who never met a stranger. She is known for loving her family and always prioritized them above everything else. Each grandchild was spoiled beyond measure and knew great adventures with Nana.

Surviving family members include her sons, Roy (Heather) Akins, Cory (Davida) Akins; daughter, Angie Akins; sisters, Deby (Pierre) Herbert, Robin Hajaistron; grandchildren Katie, Erin, Bethany, Josh, Halei, Hunter and Haiden; her beautiful great granddaughter, Aria.

The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 27th at Lotz Vinton Chapel. There will be a service in the Mausoleum at Old Dominion Cemetery on Monday, July 28,2025 at 2:30 p.m.
