Joyce Angelean Aaron Merriman

Joyce Angelean Aaron Merriman, 84, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Angelean was born in Danville, VA on December 7, 1940, to the late Addie Pearl Merricks Aaron and the late George H. Aaron Sr. She was also predeceased by her first husband, and Father of her children, Garland Leon Ricketts, and also her 2nd husband, Mr. William Merriman.

Angelean was of the Baptist Faith and a longtime charter member of Timberlake Baptist Church. She was a loving Homemaker to all her family and friends for many years.

Angelean is survived by her three daughters; Tammy Ricketts Woodson and husband Dale, Anita Ricketts Warrick and husband Danny, and Angela Ricketts Johnson and husband Brian; six grandchildren; Tony Kayla, Danielle, Sky, Alayna, and Brittany; eight great grandchildren; Kara, Kaci, J.J., Charity, Daytona, Kendra, Trystan, and Sophie; and three great great grandchildren; Kalani, Mercy and Grace; and a brother in law.

In addition to her parents, and her husbands, Angelean was predeceased by seven brothers and five sisters.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Timberlake Baptist Church building fund, 356 Lindhurst Drive, Danville, VA 24540.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 2:00pm at Timberlake Baptist Church, 356 Lindhurst Drive, Danville, VA 24540, with Pastor Walter Yancey officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA. A visitation will be held prior to the service on the same day previous to the service from 1-2:00pm, also at Timberlake Baptist Church. At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, Tammy Woodson, at 4700 Mount Cross Road, Danville, VA 24540.
