Kathy Ann Patton

October 27, 1959 - January 11, 2026

Kathy Ann Patton lived a life defined by compassion, faith, and service to others. Her hobbies included a love of cooking, gardening, and keeping Appalachian mountain values alive—traditions she cherished and passed on through her actions and relationships. Although not directly affiliated with a church, Kathy was deeply faithful and devout to the Lord, living her faith daily through kindness, humility, and love.

Kathy devoted more than 40 years of her life to nursing before retiring. Nursing was not just her profession, but her calling. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the patients she cared for, and the colleagues she supported and inspired throughout her long and dedicated career.

She was preceded in death by her father, Benny Dale Morgan; her mother, Dixie Lee Miller; her brother, Lee Scott Morgan; and her sons, Timothy and Jeremy Patton.

She is survived by her brother, Stanley Dale Morgan; her son, Joseph Benjamin Patton; her grandson, Keagan Tinsley Patton; her nephew, Louis Morgan; and many friends whose lives she touched with her warmth, strength, and generosity.

The family extends special thanks to her dear friend Gale, her “angel,” whose care and presence were a true blessing, and to Alisha Powell for her steadfast support and friendship during times when it was needed most.

From Alisha, shared with love:

You welcomed me with open arms,

full of smiles and laughter.

As your welcomed with angels now,

spread your wings and fly.

This is not forever,

this is not goodbye.

For we will meet again,

to our ever after.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to Angels of Assisi, a nonprofit the family feels Kathy would have deeply appreciated.

Kathy’s life was one of faith, service, and love—her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
