Stephen Lee Wertz

Stephen Lee Wertz, 64, of Goodview passed away on March 19, 2026.

A native of Virginia he was the husband of Patricia Chisom Wertz, who survives, and the son of Bennie Lee and Norma Jean Prillaman Wertz, both deceased. Stephen was a veteran of the United States Air Force and Army Reserves. He was an Armament Specialist for the Air Force and Drill Instructor for the Army Reserves. Stephen worked for Advance Auto Warehouse and previously for ITT/Exelis. He enjoyed bee keeping, gardening, and hunting.

In addition to his wife those left to cherish his memory are his children, Justin Wertz, Benjamin “Valyrie” Wertz, Sarah Wertz, and Steven Biggs; his brother, David Wertz and wife Tina; and numerous other extended family.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 2:00 until 6:00 pm at AmVets in Roanoke, 911 Tazewell Ave, SE, Roanoke, VA 24013.
