Laurie Elizabeth McGee

Miss Laurie Elizabeth McGee, age 63, of Mount Airy passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, at Surry Community Health and Rehab. She was born in Surry County, NC, July 30, 1962, the daughter of the late Edward Lee McGee, Jr. and Sarah Hegler McGee. Miss McGee was a 1980 graduate of Mount Airy High School and received her BS degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Mount Airy. Surviving is her brother-in-law, Mark H. Towe, her special friend and caregiver, Donna Krause. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anne McGee Towe, her brother, Alan McGee, and her nephew, Zachary Towe. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church 714 North Main Street, Mount Airy, Nc 27030. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the McGee family
