Katherine Penn Campbell
Katherine Penn Campbell September 20, 1931 – October 27, 2026 Katherine Penn Campbell, 95, of Spencer, Virginia, who was residing in Bear, Delaware, departed this life on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in Delaware. Born on September 20, 1931, she was the daughter of the late America B. Penn.
Katherine attended Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She devoted 30 years of service to Martinsville Memorial Hospital in Virginia before retiring. That commitment represented a meaningful chapter in a long life of work, responsibility, and care for those she loved.
She shared her life in marriage with the late Benjamin Campbell Sr. As an Air Force wife, Katherine had the opportunity to travel to many different places and experience life beyond her Virginia home. Through the changes that military life brought, her roles as a wife and mother remained an important part of her story.
Katherine was a member of Antioch Christian Church, and her faith brought her comfort and strength throughout her life. Even as her body grew weak and dementia affected her mind, she continued to thank Jesus for the blessing of another day. Her words of gratitude became a testimony of the faith she carried in her heart.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Katherine’s life was woven into the lives of those who knew her. Her passing leaves a tender place in their hearts, but it also leaves memories to treasure and a life to celebrate. Her family can find comfort in her own heartfelt desire that they rejoice in her peace and in the rest she has found.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Benjamin Campbell Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Unpin Campbell; her three grandchildren, Kevin Campbell, Keith Campbell, and Daniel Campbell; and many other relatives and friends.

Instead, rejoice that I repented and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
Even when my body and mind failed me, my spirit continued to thank Jesus every morning for another day, until I became too weak to speak.
Please rejoice that I am now at peace, free from the chains of pain in my body and dementia in my mind. Do not weep for long over my passing. Celebrate that my soul is at rest.
Love, Katherine
