Ada Brown Wilson

Ada Brown Wilson passed away on Saturday March 23, 2024 at Stanleytown Healthcare in Bassett, Va. She was born on January 28, 1939 to Roy and Lois Brown of Axton, Va.She was one of 5 children.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by brothers Roy Brown and Wayne Brown and sisters Sherry Anderson and Ethel Keatts.

Ada is survived by 4 children, daughters Diane Philpott (Tim) and Kim Richardson(Randy) of Bassett, Va., and sons Mark Wilson (Lynn) of Danville, Va. and Raymond Wilson (Kelli) of Jefferson, Md. Ada is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Taylor Brogan,Travis Franklin, Allie Wilson, and Jack Wilson along with 4 great-grandchildren.

Ada was of the Christian faith. She retired from Sara Lee where she worked for many years. She was a faithful member of the local Fraternal Order of the Eagles for nearly 30 years and held many offices and served on many committees in support of theorganization.

As a single mother she raised 4 children and was a devoted and caring parent. She wasan excellent cook with Southern homemade biscuits, potato salad, and banana puddingbeing some of her more favorite recipes. She was an avid reader, loved country music,singing, and dancing.

Her heart strings were always tugged at Christmas time and the Eagles Club Auxiliar'sAngel Tree Project was something dear to her heart. She leaves behind the legacy ofhelping others less fortunate than her. Her family and friends will miss her dearly. Wewere all blessed to have shared in her journey.

Services will be Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Bassett Funeral Home in Bassett, Va. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. with the funeral at 3:00 p.m. A private family gravesideservice will follow at the Horsepasture Christian Church cemetery.
