Ada Louise Blankenship Pratt
Ada Louise Blankenship Pratt, 90, of Salem passed away on February 6, 2025.
A native of Salem, Virginia she was the wife of Robert Edward Pratt, who survives, and the daughter of James Harvey Blankenship and Leafye Yopp Blankenship, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Moyer Blankenship (Florestine), Frank Blankenship (Hazel), Ralph Blankenship (Frances) Ruth Underwood, Lucy Duncan, Annie Maxey, and Ruby Blankenship.
Ada was a member of the United Women in Faith, formerly United Methodist Women, and served in the office of President twice, once in Lynchburg and then in Salem. She graduated with a Masters in Education from James Madison University. Ada was an Elementary School Teacher for Roanoke County and later the City of Lynchburg. She enjoyed bird watching, particularly the hummingbirds. She was a lifelong fan of soaps and could not miss an episode of The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless.
In addition to her husband those left to cherish her memory are her children, Anne Louise Pratt and Edward Stewart Pratt and wife Tina; grandchildren, Alexander Kendall Pratt and wife Jonnie and Grace Elizabeth Pratt; extended family, Heather and Jeff Hollingsworth and Autumn and Nathan Roberts; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 1:00 pm by Pastor Ben Lockhart. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to Locust Grove UMC in Salem in Ada’s honor.
