Adelaide Helms Lang

Adelaide "Addie" Helms Lang, 83 of Boones Mill, Va passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, July 7, 2025. Adelaide was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky on December 16, 1941. She is preceded in death by her parents Lt. Col George Josephi Helms and Adelaide Hartfelder Helms, brothers Steven L. Helms and twin John W. Helms. She graduated from Franklin County High School in 1959 and Ferrum Junior College in 1961.

Addie is survived by her husband of 58 years Richard “Dick” Lang; her four sons, Christopher Lang, Andrew Lang (Fonda), Wesley Lang (Kanako), Bradley Lang (Slone), seven grandchildren, Ariel Hunker (Jacob), Mason Lang, Natalie Lang, Trevor Lang, Leighton Lang, Sutton Lang, Ibuki Lang; sisters, Georginia Chrisman (Keith), Connie Blair (Andy); sisters-in-laws, Valerie Helms, Joyce Helms, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Addie was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was also a long-time member of the Boones Mill Garden Club. She had a love for reading, playing bridge with a variety of groups and clubs over the years. She loved to brag about her kids and grandkids. She will be remembered as a good friend to many and took advantage of every chance she had to go out to eat with friends and family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Va 24151. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later time at Trinity Episcopal Church, Rocky Mount, Va.
