Albert J. Wagoner

Albert J. Wagoner, 93, of Bassett, VA, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, peacefully at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection. He was born on November 26, 1930, to the late Horace Wagoner and Ocie Allen Wagoner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary P. Wagoner; one grandson, Ronnie Lee Wagoner; one sister, Alpha Hale; and brothers, Curtis, Howard, Charles, and James Wagoner.

He was a member of People's Church of The Living God. He enjoyed gospel music and his family.

Albert is survived by three daughters, Sandra Lee Wagoner, Carolyn Renee Wagoner, and Donna Jean Sessor; three sons, Ronnie Wagoner (Bonnie), Carry Wagoner (Peggy), and David Wagoner; four grandchildren, Michael S. Wagoner, Tina Clark, Nicole “Nikki” Kendrick, Jessica Hodges; six great-grandchildren, Macy, Landon, Izabella, Julia, Aaron and Jack ; one great- great –granddaughter, Haven Seiy; two sisters, Voleria Cundiff and Esther Waller; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 12 Noon at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Preacher J.D. Walker and Pastor Eddie Hawks, officiating. Burial will follow at the Cannady’s Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
